The Summoner Necromancer, also known as the Skelemancer or Summonmancer, stands as one of the safest and most reliable endgame builds in Diablo II: Resurrected Ladder Season 13 (Patch 3.0, post-Reign of the Warlock expansion). Launched on February 20, 2026, Season 13 introduced new content like the Warlock class and additional runewords, but the D2R Ladder Items core Summoner Necro remains largely unchanged—still excelling at crowd control and tanky army-based play. It relies on a massive horde of skeletons, skeletal mages, golems, and revived monsters to overwhelm enemies while the player stays safely behind the lines.
This build shines in Hell difficulty, Terror Zones, Chaos Sanctuary, and Ubers thanks to its “set it and forget it” style. Physical and magic damage from minions bypass many immunities, and curses amplify group clears. While slower than Poison Nova or Bone variants for pure speed farming, its extreme survivability makes it ideal for solo self-found, hardcore, or relaxed mapping.

    Skill Allocation (Level 90+)

    Max these in priority order:

Raise Skeleton (20) – Your main melee army.

Skeleton Mastery (20) – Boosts skeleton life, damage, and quantity.

Raise Skeletal Mage (20) – Adds ranged elemental damage (mix cold/fire for coverage).

Golem Mastery + Clay Golem (1–20) – Clay Golem is the best tank; max mastery for durability.

Summon Resist (1) – Improves all minion resistances.

Revive (1–10+) – Revived monsters add powerful temporary allies.

Support skills (1 point each): Amplify Damage, Decrepify, Lower Resist (via gear if possible), Corpse Explosion (synergizes with army clears), Clay Golem, Iron Golem (optional for thorns). Pre-cast Bone Armor or use Dim Vision for utility. Avoid heavy investment in Bone or Poison trees unless hybridizing.

    Stat Distribution

Strength: Enough for gear (typically 156 for Enigma/Chaos armor).

    Dexterity: Minimal (block optional).

Energy: Low—mana issues solved by Insight merc and +mana gear.

Vitality: Dump the rest. Aim for 1000+ life with gear and charms for safety.

    Endgame Gear (BiS Focus)

The Summoner is famously budget-friendly but scales beautifully with investment.

Armor: Enigma runeword (Jah + Ith + Ber) – Teleport lets you reposition your army instantly, a game-changer for narrow maps and boss focus. Alternative: Bramble for massive +skills and life.

Weapon: Ethereal Beast runeword (Ber + Tir + Um + Mal + Gul) on a polearm for level 9 Fanaticism aura—huge boost to minion attack speed and damage. Swap to Call to Arms + Spirit shield for battle orders and +skills.

Shield: Spirit Monarch (35% FCR) or Homunculus for +skills and resists.

Helm: Harlequin Crest (Shako) or rare +2 Summoning Skills circlet with FCR/life.

Gloves: Trang-Oul’s Claws (+2 skills, FCR, poison resist).

Belt: Arachnid Mesh (+1 skills, FCR, slow).

Boots: War Traveler or rare FRW/resist boots.
Amulet/Rings: +2 Necromancer or +3 Summoning amulet; Stone of Jordan x2 or Bul-Kathos’ Wedding Band for life/skills.

Charms: Prioritize +1 Summoning Grand Charms, then +life/resist small charms.

Mercenary: Act 2 Nightmare Offensive (might aura) or Defensive. Equip with Insight (for Meditation mana) or Infinity (for -enemy resist, though less critical here). Give him leech, life, and damage gear so he survives and supports the army.

    Playstyle and Tips

Teleport with Enigma to safe spots, curse packs with Amplify Damage (physical boost) or Decrepify (slow + defense shred), then let your skeletons and mages swarm. Use Corpse Explosion on dense groups for massive chain reactions. Revive strong monsters like champions for extra firepower. In Season 13, new Herald and Terror Zone content favors the build’s tankiness.

Pros: Extremely safe, low maintenance, great for farming keys/organs/Ubers, works well in 8-player games.

Cons: Slower clear speed than spellcasters; relies on corpse availability.

With this setup, your army clears Hell efficiently while you sip coffee. Transition from a buy D2R Runewords Bone leveling build via respec for smooth progression. Whether pushing ladder or casually farming, the Summoner Necromancer delivers unmatched reliability in Season 13.
